Transition is about being able to get where you want to be, when you want to be there, at a cost you understand, and without surprises. 

If you don't make transition one of your core competencies, change will hurt. 

You’ll devote most of your effort to fighting fires.  You won’t have much time left at the end of the day to pursue the goals you know are important.
